My Jams

Home

Hi there! I am SPEEDOFLIGHT. I am a fairly new blogger who just wants to share what I love! Over the last month, I have been compiling a list of my favorite songs! Enjoy the blog!

  1.

River by Charlie Puth. What surprises my most about this song is that it is not the single of the album! I love the old style synth behind the vocals. The snapping in the pre-chorus makes you want to dance. I love the background vocals in this song too. The piano adds a very jazzy feel. Great song!

Weak by AJR. The piano and talk-singing in the beginning sets the tone for the song. The contrast of high and low notes in the pre-chorus is perfect. The main chorus in this song is like the icing on a cake. It gives the song a trap-like vibe, without making it too experimental. All in all, this song is just incredible.

  1.

Backstory by Cameron Sanderson. The piano in the beginning of the song captures your attention. This song was put together masterfully. The chorus is a perfect balance of sad and dramatic. The fact that Cameron Sanderson is unsigned, and makes, produces & masters all of his music, shows what a talented artist he is. Not to mention he plays Drums, Guitar, Bass, Piano, Ukulele and dabbles on Trumpet!

  1.

Screen by Twenty One Pilots. The low pass filter transitioning the drums in the beginning is very clever and brings you into the song. The raw vocals before the chorus gives it a nice touch. It is a smart way to push the song up a notch. The ukulele right before the rap is very light and subtle, bringing a happier feel to the song. The rap in this song is very chirpy and fun; it makes you want to dance. I love the choir like feel when he is singing the “We’re Broken People” part. This song is very fun and definitely one of my favorite songs.

  1.

Ready Set Let’s Go by Sam Tinnez. The heavy drum in this song is perfect and makes you feel a sense of badassery. Sam’s voice is kinda refreshing to me, because you don’t really find people who sing like this much. This song really gave me a Zayde Wolf vibe. This song is easily one of my favorites.

  1.

Back To You by Twin Forks. I love folk and this song just hit the spot! It creates such a fun atmosphere wherever it is played. The vocals in this song are very unique. I have not heard anything like this before. I love this song!

I hope you enjoyed this blog, and I will be coming at you with another one soon!
